Benefits of AL/ML to the MNCs :
So today’s article is about AI/ML and how they are helping MNC’s to improve their work.
Introducing the World of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning!
Artificial intelligence:-
In computer science, the term artificial intelligence (AI) refers to any human-like intelligence exhibited by a computer, robot, or other machine. In popular usage, artificial intelligence refers to the ability of a computer or machine to mimic the capabilities of the human mind — learning from examples and experience, recognizing objects, understanding and responding to language, making decisions, solving problems — and combining these and other capabilities to perform functions a human might perform, such as greeting a hotel guest or driving a car.
After decades of being relegated to science fiction, today, AI is part of our everyday lives. The surge in AI development is made possible by the sudden availability of large amounts of data and the corresponding development and wide availability of computer systems that can process all that data faster and more accurately than humans can. AI is completing our words as we type them, providing driving directions when we ask, vacuuming our floors, and recommending what we should buy or binge-watch next. And it’s driving applications- such as medical image analysis- that help skilled professionals do important work faster and with greater success.
Machine Learning:-
Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it to learn for themselves.
The process of learning begins with observations or data, such as examples, direct experience, or instruction, in order to look for patterns in data and make better decisions in the future based on the examples that we provide. The primary aim is to allow the computers learn automatically without human intervention or assistance and adjust actions accordingly.
But, using the classic algorithms of machine learning, text is considered as a sequence of keywords; instead, an approach based on semantic analysis mimics the human ability to understand the meaning of a text.
How artificial intelligence is changing the way MNCs work.
To organize employees and manage the work across borders is a crucial task done by multinational companies. As we see, technology is updating every day which leading the companies to adopt such technologies and organize the work culture as much as possible.
Artificial Intelligence is already forcing leadership teams of the companies around the world to reconsider some of their core structure. Advances in technology are causing firms to restructure their organizational makeup, transform their HR departments, develop new training models, and re-evaluate their hiring practices.
so there is some starts ups use AI/ML to organize their work structure:
Routematic:-
One of the most innovative technology enabled transportation brand in India, Routematic is aimed at providing a simplified, robust and cost-effective transportation system for corporate employees. The company offers a combination of 2 services -- Routematic Fleet Service and Transport Automation Software. As a SaaS product, it offers automation software complimentary to its fleet, which helps clients plan, optimize and monitor their employee transport operations.
Intuition:-
This Bengaluru-based startup which develops point-of-sale (POS) and billing systems using AI and ML, has collaborated with Lantern Pharma, a biopharmaceutical company which uses precision oncology to treat cancer and its related diseases. With cancer being harder to detect and treat at initial stages, Lantern aims to alleviate this problem using its advanced genomics and AI for improved drug development. Intuition Systems will work with Lantern’s team to help with AI, big data, cloud services and infrastructure to support drug development and biomarker identification.
Customer Success Box:-
A B2B SaaS customer success platform backed with $1 million in venture funding, Customer Success Box is aimed at delivering proactive customer success. As the startup believes, customer churn is the biggest blocker of growth and it’s like trying to fill up a leaky bucket. Such businesses cannot continue to operate with the old reactive support model, this is where CSB comes into the picture.
How Companies Use Artificial Intelligence In Practice.
Here is some example of big MNC’s
- Apple
Apple, one of the world’s largest technology companies, selling consumer electronics such as iPhones and Apple Watches, as well as computer software and online services. Apple uses artificial intelligence and machine learning in products like the iPhone, where it enables the FaceID feature, or in products like the AirPods, Apple Watch, or HomePod smart speakers, where it enables the smart assistant Siri. Apple is also growing its service offering and is using AI to recommend songs on Apple Music, help you find your photo in the iCloud, or navigate to your next meeting using Maps.
- Baidu
The Chinese equivalent of Google, Baidu, uses artificial intelligence in many ways. They have a tool called Deep Voice that uses artificial intelligence and deep learning that only needs 3.7 seconds of audio to clone a voice. They use this same technology to create a tool that reads books to you in the author’s voice — all automated with no recording studio necessary.
- Alphabet — Google
Not only is Amazon in the artificial intelligence game with its digital voice assistant, Alexa, but artificial intelligence is also part of many aspects of its business. Another innovative way Amazon uses artificial intelligence is to ship things to you before you even think about buying it. They collect a lot of data about each person’s buying habits and have such confidence in how the data they collect helps them recommend items to its customers and now predict what they need even before they need it by using predictive analytics. In a time when many brick-and-mortar stores are struggling to figure out how to stay relevant, America’s largest e-tailer offers a new convenience store concept called Amazon Go. Unlike other stores, there is no checkout required. The stores have artificial intelligence technology that tracks what items you pick up and then automatically charges you for those items through the Amazon Go app on your phone. Since there is no checkout, you bring your own bags to fill up with items, and there are cameras watching your every move to identify every item you put in your bag to ultimately charge you for it.
One of the primary ways Facebook uses artificial intelligence and deep learning is to add structure to its unstructured data. They use Deeptext, a text understanding engine, to automatically understand and interpret the content and emotional sentiment of the thousands of posts (in multiple languages) that its users publish every second. With DeepFace, the social media giant can automatically identify you in a photo that is shared on their platform. In fact, this technology is so good, it’s better at facial recognition than humans. The company also uses artificial intelligence to automatically catch and remove images that are posted on its site as revenge porn.
